EduCode Canada is currently Piloting their coding Platform in middle schools in three New Brunswick Districts. This new pilot is aimed at significantly expanding computer science education in all NB schools. This Platform Pilot is also being offered to additional Canadian provinces
EduCode is committed to growing computer science programs in our schools and helping our kids to go from being consumers of technology to understanding and becoming the creators of that technology. To that end, they have developed The EduCode Platform.
Getting started is simple. The platform is easy to adopt by both teachers and students. All you need is a web browser, internet connection and a computer. Students can access learning resources and work on projects from anywhere - at home or in the classroom.
The platform combines cloud server infrastructure, an IDE and code editor for any language, with powerful learning tools including auto-graded assessments, instant access to student projects and dashboards to track student progress.
The platform comes with an embedded code editor with output window which allows the students to see imidiately the result of their coding. Teachers can effortlessly teach any language they want and any version that they need.
Over course modules covering topics such as fundamental computer science concepts, data & abstraction, networking as well as practical exercises and projects. Courses are designed for middle school through to senior year of high school and mapped to CSTA Standards. There’s even teacher solution notes and curriculum maps for lesson planning.
